What makes the 2009 Custom Flybridge Motoryacht stand out in the yacht market?

The 2009 Custom Flybridge Motoryacht differentiates itself with its shallow 2.5-foot draft, enabled by Triple Yanmar Diesels matched to Hamilton jet drives, allowing exceptional access to a variety of locations. Its massive 2018/2019 refit, which included updates to mechanical and jet systems, electronics, and living spaces, coupled with the April 2023 maintenance updates, positions it uniquely. Over 1,800 square feet of living space with ceiling heights over 8 feet and luxurious features akin to brands like Broward and Feadship, make it a standout. Its design is ideal for entertaining large groups, and it’s perfectly suited for cruising the Intracoastal Waterway and the Bahamas.

How does the engine setup on the yacht affect its performance and fuel consumption?

The yacht’s Triple Yanmar diesel engines, paired with Hamilton jet drives, provide a flexible setup that significantly impacts both performance and fuel consumption. This unique configuration allows for economical cruising with a single center motor option, reducing fuel consumption during more relaxed journeys. Additionally, the Hamilton jet drives offer not only a uniquely shallow draft for easy navigation in shallow waters but also contribute to a smoother, more efficient operation, enhancing the yacht’s overall performance.

Can you describe the living and entertainment features onboard?

This yacht boasts over 1,800 square feet of air-conditioned living space, offering an experience similar to luxury homes. With ceiling heights over 8 feet throughout, it provides a spacious and comfortable environment. It features 4 staterooms with en-suite heads, plus a main deck day head, accommodating guests with luxury and privacy. Designed for entertainment, it has hosted over 125 people and includes a jacuzzi on the aft swim platform and 2 full wet bars outside, making it perfect for hosting large gatherings or intimate parties alike.

What recent upgrades have been made to the yacht?

In April 2023, the yacht received significant updates to ensure it remains in top condition. These upgrades included a new bottom job, an overhaul of the Hamilton jet drives, installation of new batteries, a new flybridge top, and all-new cushions. These improvements are in addition to a comprehensive refit done in 2018/2019, which saw updates to mechanical and jet systems, electronics, stereo, TV’s, flooring, decks, and hull paint, ensuring the yacht is both modern and highly functional.

Why is this yacht considered an ideal choice for cruising areas like the ICW and Bahamas?

The yacht’s uniquely shallow draft of 2.5 feet, enabled by its Triple Yanmar diesels matched to Hamilton jet drives, makes it exceptionally suited for cruising the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and the shallow waters of the Bahamas. This feature allows it to access a variety of locations that are off-limits to many other yachts of similar size. Additionally, its extensive living and entertainment facilities, coupled with the option for economical cruising, make it an ideal choice for both adventurous explorations and relaxed island hopping in these beautiful cruising grounds.

Her shallow 2′ 6″ draft and Hamilton waterjet drives make operating across the Bahama Bank a breeze, while at the same time affording comfortable access to the many interesting harbors and anchorages often denied to deeper draft vessels. With over eight feet of headroom and equally generous elbow room in all compartments, the Boundless 90 is well suited for spending extended periods of time aboard. Her tiger wood finish and upgraded wall coverings in the interior is inviting and relaxed, while her galley facilitates convivial gatherings of family and friends. Large maindeck dining and living/entertainment areas flow together to eliminate any feeling of being cramped or confined in any way. Large windows and truly full sized doorways work to enhance the feeling that she is a much larger vessel than her 90 feet LOA. On her lower deck, four large staterooms, each with bath en suite and huge closets, provide sleeping and private lounging accommodations for eight. And an outsized laundry/utility room, provides a center from which hired crew can properly service an owner’s party or a charter group, equally well. The pilot house also features a couch that can be used as a bunk for crew.  This vessel’s aft engine room is fitted with triple Yanmar marine diesel engines, coupled to Hamilton waterjet drives, for shallow water operation, high maneuverability, and ultimate flexibility of choice with respect to speed, fuel consumption, and range. Run on all three engines for top speed and performance. Use only the two wing engines for moderate speeds and docking maneuverability. And cut back to the single, centerline engine for passage making speeds and extended range. The engine room itself is very large and roomy, again with nearly eight feet of headroom. Her engines and contained mechanical systems are readily accessible for proper regular maintenance; and she has been maintained in top condition since she was first commissioned. Engine hours are very low. On deck, her full walkaround configuration enhances one’s feeling of dominion, and makes docking and line handling a snap. Her generous quarter deck is shaded and makes a superb outdoor entertainment area, while her exceedingly large, broad expanse of boat deck provides space for stowing a tender, jet skis, or other water toys, while still leaving ample room in and around her flybridge control station. If you measure the value of your time on the water in terms of convenience, comfort, and relaxation, then this distinctive, sensible motor yacht will yield an ROI higher than you’ve seen in a long time.
