Our Thoughts

The 2002 Dyna 70 Laguna represents a thoughtfully designed European-style motor yacht that delivers the space, comfort, and entertaining capability of a much larger vessel while remaining efficiently operable by a couple. Dyna Yacht, one of Taiwan's premier luxury yacht builders, has spent nearly four decades perfecting the construction and styling of vessels that compete directly with established European yards—offering comparable quality and sophistication at substantially lower acquisition and operating costs.

This particular 70-footer, named Alchemy V, exemplifies the breed. Professionally maintained since launch by experienced, knowledgeable owners operating with an open checkbook, the vessel shows exceptionally well throughout. The high-gloss bird's eye maple interior remains flawless, soft goods including carpets, cushions, and curtains were renewed in the early 2020s, and the engine hours remain remarkably low at approximately 560 hours—a testament to conscientious stewardship.

Layout & Accommodations

The accommodation plan maximizes the 70-foot length and 18.17-foot beam with thoughtful vertical and horizontal flow. Entry is via an extended teak swim platform leading to a carpeted, fully enclosed aft deck featuring a built-in settee, coffee table, and newly upholstered cocktail seating. The main salon flows naturally forward through sliding glass doors, offering a long J-shaped settee, polished coffee table, and port-side bar. The galley sits adjacent to the companionway, while a lower helm sits across from a large C-shaped dinette forward in the salon.

Below-deck accommodations include two primary staterooms: a beam-to-beam master with walk-around king berth, abundant storage, and an ensuite head featuring a spacious 6'4" headroom stall shower; and a VIP guest stateroom with walk-around king and full ensuite head with tub and shower. Two additional guest suites, each with twin berths and ensuite heads with showers, provide flexibility for cruising with family or guests. Captain's quarters in the bow include two berths and a head with shower. Throughout the interior, 6'4" headroom is consistent, and five MarineAir reverse-cycle heat and air-conditioning units maintain full climate control.

The fully enclosed flybridge—a signature feature of this design—offers seating for more than a dozen, upper helm station, and access to the dinghy davit. Multiple stairways connect the flybridge to both the aft deck and the salon, as well as to the foredeck, creating intuitive traffic flow for entertaining or daily operation.

Galley & Appliances

The galley is appointed with a polished black granite countertop, double stainless steel deep sinks, hot and cold pressure water (including a 20-gallon hot water heater with both AC and engine-fired options), a one-touch designer faucet, Miele dishwasher, Kenyon three-burner electric cooktop, GE Profile microwave/convection oven, and Maytag refrigerator/freezer with custom door fronts. A separate washer and dryer (installed 2021) occupy the master stateroom, a significant upgrade over typical marine washer/dryer combination units. An Uline freezer in the salon and Edgestar professional icemaker on the flybridge provide additional food storage flexibility.

Four Vacuflush heads throughout the vessel, plus a fifth in the captain's quarters, ensure adequate sanitation facilities; three of the four main toilets include integrated bidets.

Dyna Yacht is one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of luxury yachts; for almost 40 years they've designed and built stylish yachts of over 100' that rival European yards in terms of quality but at a much lower cost. Alchemy V is an bristol example of their Laguna 70, a Euro style design that offers the luxury, space and entertaining potential of a mini mega yacht but can easily be operated by a couple. This particular low time example has been professionally maintained with an open checkbook since new by experienced and knowledgeable owners, and she shows beautifully today. Some highlights: high gloss bird's eye maple shows flawless throughout, updated soft goods (carpets, cushions and curtains reportedly renewed in the early 2020s) fully enclosed flybridge and aft deck, custom walk-in closet, low time (less than 1,500 hours) on 1,300 hp MAN diesels (20+ knot cruise), custom full flybridge enclosure, full suite of electronics including Emotiva multi zone wireless stereo system and Starlink active tracking TV/internet antenna integrated with multiple flat screen TVs, much more. Two main staterooms with kind berths and ensuite heads with a jacuzzi tub in the master, two guest suites each with two berths and ensuite heads with shower, captain's quarters in bow with two berths and head with shower. Note that this is one of only a handful of yachts of this size/year/price available anywhere on the west coast at present. Also note that she's lying in one of the very few downtown Sausalito slips that can accommodate a vessel of this size; she's on F Dock (right on the turning basin) in the Sausalito Yacht Harbor, where the wait for a big slip like this might be well over a decade. This berth is potentially transferable, which is a HUGE benefit if you're able to take advantage... Current owners live on board so vessel shown by appointment only, please.

Dyna 70 Laguna Motor Yacht for Sale – Sausalito, California
Overview
The Dyna 70 Laguna represents a pinnacle of Asian yacht design and construction, combining European aesthetic principles with the engineering rigor and value proposition that have made Taiwan's Dyna Yacht a respected name in the global luxury yacht market for nearly four decades. This 2002 Dyna 70 Laguna, *Alchemy V*, exemplifies the model's core promise: a mini-megayacht experience—complete with multiple staterooms, a full-beam master, an enormous enclosed flybridge , and comprehensive entertainment infrastructure—packaged in a 70-foot platform that remains manageable for owner-operator couples and small crews. Lying in downtown Sausalito's F Dock, *Alchemy V* has been continuously maintained under an open-checkbook regimen by experienced, knowledgeable owners since her launch. The vessel carries approximately 560 hours on her twin 1,300-horsepower MAN V-12 turbo diesel engines, operates at a 22.59-knot cruise speed with a maximum of 26.07 knots, and is supported by a comprehensive suite of Raytheon navigation electronics, a Northern Lights 20-kilowatt genset, and modern connectivity via Starlink active-tracking satellite internet and television. The 1,200-gallon fuel capacity and 250-gallon fresh-water tank, combined with the yacht's efficient hull form and dual-engine propulsion, deliver extended cruising range and self-sufficiency for extended passages.
Layout and Deck Design
The Dyna 70 Laguna's layout is engineered to maximize livable space and entertaining potential across three distinct deck levels, each serving a specific operational and social function. Aft Deck and Swim Platform Entry begins at an extended teak swim platform with integrated boarding steps and transom gate, opening onto a fully enclosed, carpeted aft deck finished with built-in settee, antique coffee table, and three newly upholstered cocktail chairs. This protected outdoor-living space serves as the primary gathering point for entertaining and casual lounging, with direct access both to the flybridge above and the main salon forward. Main Salon and Lower Helm Sliding glass and polished stainless steel doors lead from the aft deck into the main salon, where a long J-shaped settee, custom coffee table, and port-side bar create a sophisticated social hub. The starboard side accommodates the galley and companionway to the master stateroom. Forward of the salon, two steps up, sits a large C-shaped dinette to port with the lower helm station positioned to starboard—a layout that allows the commanding officer to remain visually connected to the main living space while maintaining full navigational control. Flybridge The crowning feature of the Dyna 70 Laguna is an enormous, fully enclosed flybridge accessible via a sculptural free-standing stairway from the salon or via side stairs from the aft deck. Built-in seating accommodates more than a dozen guests, and the upper helm station provides 360-degree visibility and control redundancy. The flybridge also integrates the dinghy davit and serves as the primary access point to the foredeck, creating a natural flow for deck operations and anchoring procedures. Accommodation Spaces The vessel's cabin layout includes two main staterooms with king berths and ensuite heads, two guest suites each with twin berths and ensuite heads with showers, and a captain's quarters in the bow with two berths and head. The master stateroom is beam-to-beam, featuring a walk-around king bed, extensive storage, and a full ensuite head with a spacious 6'4" headroom stall shower. All interior spaces maintain 6'4" headroom throughout, and the entire vessel is fully climate-controlled via five MarineAir reverse-cycle heat and air-conditioning units.
Helm and Electronics
*Alchemy V* is equipped with a comprehensive, integrated Raytheon navigation and control suite designed for single-operator capability and redundancy across both helm stations. The primary electronics backbone comprises two Raytheon RC530 color GPS chartplotters with 24-nautical-mile radar overlay, linked via SeaTalk interconnection. This architecture allows displays to be mixed and matched across multiple monitors, providing flexibility in information presentation and operational preference. A Raytheon ST6000+ autopilot with control stations at both the lower helm and flybridge upper helm ensures consistent steering authority regardless of operating location. Speed, depth, and water temperature data flow through a Raytheon ST60 Tridata system, also controlled from both stations. Communication is handled by a Raytheon VHF radio, supplemented by Plastimo and Raytheon magnetic compasses for traditional backup navigation. The SeaTalk interconnected architecture means that critical navigation data—course, speed, depth, heading, radar imagery, and autopilot status—can be displayed on any compatible monitor, a significant advantage for both day-to-day operation and emergency response. Modern connectivity is provided by a Starlink active-tracking satellite internet and television antenna, integrated with multiple flat-screen televisions capable of simultaneous streaming. This system ensures continuous internet access and entertainment regardless of cruising location, a substantial quality-of-life upgrade for extended offshore passages and remote anchorages.
Galley and Provisioning
The galley reflects both professional-grade equipment selection and aesthetic refinement. A polished black granite countertop spans double stainless steel deep sinks with hot and cold pressure water fed from a 20-gallon hot water heater (both AC and engine-fired). A one-touch designer faucet provides ergonomic control. Cooking is supported by a Kenyon three-burner electric cooktop and a GE Profile microwave/convection oven. A Miele dishwasher handles cleanup, and a Maytag refrigerator/freezer with custom door fronts provides primary cold storage, complemented by an Uline freezer in the salon and an Edgestar professional icemaker on the flybridge—a thoughtful redundancy for entertaining and extended cruising. A separate washer and dryer (installed in 2021 as individual units rather than a combined washer/dryer) are located in the master stateroom, a configuration that provides superior functionality and reliability compared to typical marine combination units.
Comfort, Entertainment, and Accommodation
The Dyna 70 Laguna's interior design philosophy balances luxury aesthetics with practical liveaboard functionality. High-gloss bird's-eye maple cabinetry shows throughout, and soft goods—carpets, cushions, and curtains—were reportedly renewed in the early 2020s. The salon features a long J-shaped settee with a custom coffee table and port-side bar, creating an elegant yet comfortable gathering space. A large C-shaped dinette forward provides formal dining with helm visibility. The Emotiva multi-zone wireless stereo system represents a significant audio upgrade, delivering high-fidelity sound across multiple speakers throughout the vessel with intuitive wireless control. Individual staterooms feature dedicated Sony AM/FM/CD stereo systems, allowing occupants to select their own audio preferences independently. Climate control is managed by five MarineAir reverse-cycle heat and air-conditioning units, ensuring comfortable temperature regulation in all weather conditions. Freshwater capacity of 250 gallons, combined with efficient systems and the vessel's size, supports extended cruising without frequent resupply.
Power and Propulsion
*Alchemy V* is powered by twin fresh-water-cooled MAN V-12 turbo diesel engines, each producing 1,300 horsepower. Current engine hours stand at approximately 560, indicating minimal wear on these robust, electronically controlled powerplants. Each engine is equipped with three Racor filters for fuel system protection, and the installation includes automatic fire suppression systems and full engine room instrumentation. Propulsion is delivered through four-bladed bronze propellers mounted on polished stainless steel engine beds that are integrally bonded to the hull. Steering is managed via a Hynautic hydraulic system, and trim tabs provide pitch control and improved fuel efficiency. An electric bow thruster facilitates precision maneuvering in tight quarters and at slow speeds. The vessel achieves a cruising speed of 22.59 knots and a maximum speed of 26.07 knots, with a fuel capacity of 1,200 gallons supporting extended passages. Engines were last serviced in mid-2025, at which time the port starter was replaced.

What makes the Sausalito location and slip situation significant for this listing?
The yacht is berthed at the Sausalito Yacht Harbor on F Dock, one of the very few downtown Sausalito slips capable of accommodating a 70-foot vessel. Large slips in this location typically have a wait list exceeding a decade, making this berth a substantial asset. The slip's proximity to the turning basin and the potential transferability of the mooring position represent a significant advantage for a buyer seeking immediate, premium berthing on the San Francisco Bay without waiting years for availability.
