2022 Azimut Grande 27M: A Fully Crewed, Technology-Enhanced Motor Yacht with Comprehensive Recent Upgrades
Overview
The 2022 Azimut Grande 27M is an 88-foot motor yacht built by the Italian shipyard Azimut, one of the world's leading manufacturers of luxury motor yachts. Located in Coral Gables, Florida, this Grande 27M represents the pinnacle of European yacht design combined with extensive owner customization and a comprehensive upgrade program. With a beam of 21.58 feet and a draft of 6 feet, the vessel is engineered for both long-range cruising and comfortable coastal entertaining. Powered by twin MAN 1900 HP engines with under 970 hours of operation, the Grande 27M achieves a cruising speed of 24 knots and a maximum speed of 28 knots, making it capable of extended offshore passages while maintaining fuel efficiency. What distinguishes this particular Grande 27M is the depth of recent improvements undertaken by the current owner. The vessel has benefited from a comprehensive upgrade program that includes structural enhancements, advanced connectivity infrastructure, updated safety systems, interior refinements, and mechanical service. These improvements—ranging from Italian marble installations and Starlink dual-antenna integration to a new fire detection system and complete shaft seal replacement—demonstrate a commitment to both the vessel's functionality and long-term reliability.
Layout and Deck Design
The Grande 27M is organized around a classic Azimut motor yacht layout that separates guest entertaining spaces from crew operations and maximizes natural light throughout the vessel. The main salon and dining area occupy the central portion of the yacht, with direct access to the on-deck master stateroom forward and four lower guest staterooms aft. This arrangement allows guests to enjoy the primary living spaces without navigating through crew areas, while the crew quarters are independently accessible via the port side deck or engine room. The exterior of the yacht features three distinct entertaining zones. The aft deck cockpit is anchored by a large U-shaped seating area that accommodates 8 to 10 guests, with an electronically retracting sunscreen for privacy. The bow area offers a second U-shaped seating configuration with an electronic clamshell shade and an expansive sun pad forward, ideal for daytime relaxation and water views. The flybridge —the largest outdoor space—has been extensively customized with a heated jacuzzi, propane grilling station with cooktop and stainless steel BBQ, full bar with refrigeration and ice maker, enclosed dining area for eight, and forward-facing helm station with additional guest seating. The entire forward section of the flybridge is enclosed with EZ2CY panels, ensuring weather protection without sacrificing the open-air experience. The tender garage aft transitions directly to a swim platform, providing easy access to water toys and providing a functional connection between the yacht's interior and water-based recreation.
Salon and Dining
Upon entering the main salon, guests encounter a custom blue sectional sofa positioned to port, complemented by two armchairs and a love seat to starboard. The space is defined by floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, flooding the interior with natural light and creating visual continuity with the surrounding seascape. Light-colored wood flooring and walls are accented with dark wood trim and coordinated décor that establishes a sophisticated color palette throughout the vessel. The dining area features an eight-person table positioned just forward of the sectional, with a cylindrical overhead light fixture and accent lighting on the forward bulkhead. A custom cabinetry piece on the port side serves as the focal point of the dining space, while a starboard storage cabinet houses extra dishware and themed décor. Pocket doors to port and starboard allow the dining area to be completely closed off, creating privacy for the owner and guests when needed. A central vacuum system serves the entire vessel, supporting the maintenance standards expected on a yacht of this size and configuration.
Galley and Service
The galley is positioned to port and is remarkably spacious for an 88-foot yacht, with direct access from the side deck through a pantograph door that allows crew to service the exterior without disrupting guests in the salon. Upon entry, a coffee bar and service area with a Miele wine fridge provides the first impression of the galley's refinement. The main galley features extensive counter space, two LG refrigeration units with freezer capability, a double Barazza sink basin, a full-size Miele dishwasher, and a 3-burner Miele cooktop with oven and range hood. An additional deep freezer in the garage supports extended cruising. Floor-to-ceiling storage cabinetry contains all dishware and provisions, while natural light enters through a skylight and a side window integrated into the cabinetry above the sink. The Sonos audio system extends into the galley with flush-mounted ceiling speakers.
On-Deck Master Stateroom
The on-deck master stateroom is accessed from the starboard side of the salon and represents one of the most desirable accommodations on the vessel. A large walk-in closet to port houses a washer and dryer, while a built-in dresser with four drawers occupies the starboard side. Three steps down from the entry, the master bedroom itself features floor-to-ceiling hull side windows that create an immersive connection to the water. A custom floating bench positioned in front of the starboard window continues the salon's color palette, while a desk and vanity on the port side overlook the water. Additional hanging locker storage and a large hold beneath the bed accommodate guest luggage and spare parts. The master includes a concealed television with an oval-shaped dresser below, and Sonos speakers overhead provide audio control via smartphone app. The en-suite head, accessed down two steps forward, features light-colored marble with dark accents, a double vanity aft, and a spacious shower forward, all finished with waterfall showerheads and marble detailing.
Guest Staterooms
The four lower guest staterooms are arranged with two forward and two aft, each accessed via illuminated marble companionway steps that wrap around as guests descend. The starboard forward stateroom features a queen berth with light and dark wood tones, a large nightstand on the outboard side, and a hull side window with opening porthole. The en-suite head is finished in light-colored marble with stainless hardware, waterfall showerhead, and bench seating. The port forward stateroom is a mirror image of the starboard but uniquely features two twin berths instead of a queen, providing flexibility for different guest configurations. Both forward staterooms include custom bed linens with spares, ample storage with lockers and under-bed drawers, TVs mounted at the foot of the beds behind dark glass, and independent Sonos speaker control. The two aft staterooms—port and starboard—are mirror images of each other, each featuring a king-size berth with massive hull side windows at the head. Cream-colored nightstands with dark wood inserts flank the beds, with reading lamps and storage above. Each aft stateroom includes a large hanging locker, under-bed storage, concealed cabinets above the nightstands, and a TV concealed behind tinted glass that blends into the wall when not in use. The en-suites are spacious with light marble, waterfall showerheads, bench seating, and large vanities. All guest staterooms feature plush white carpet with light wood walls and dark wood accents, and each benefits from independent Sonos audio control.
Crew Quarters
The crew quarters, accessed via the port side deck or through the engine room, can accommodate up to four crew members across two staterooms—one with a large queen berth and one with twin bunks. The mess area is spacious and includes a second Miele professional series washer and dryer, a seating area with a small table, microwave, and wall-mounted TV. A shared head features a separate stall shower. Each crew berth has its own television, and hanging lockers provide personal storage. A small touchscreen monitor in the crew mess allows the crew to monitor vessel systems, and the recent upgrade added a crew bunk configuration to optimize sleeping capacity for extended cruising with a full complement of staff.
Helm and Electronics
The raised pilothouse, accessed via a few steps from the starboard companionway, is outfitted with a comprehensive Simrad electronics suite that provides the captain with complete navigational and vessel control capability. Three 18-inch Simrad chart plotters serve dual functions as both navigation displays and touchscreen controls for all yacht systems, including bilge pumps, air conditioning, lighting, and thruster operation. The helm chair is positioned for optimal visibility, with a comfortable sofa to port that accommodates two or three guests. The vessel is equipped with Aventics joystick control for intuitive maneuvering, with a

The garage also includes massive storage lockers accessible from below the aft deck seating, providing space for water sports equipment, fenders, and other gear. The hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, combined with joystick control, allow precise maneuvering when deploying or retrieving the tender and water toys.
How is the interior design and material selection coordinated throughout the vessel?
The Grande 27M features a cohesive design palette throughout with light-colored walls and wood floors accented by dark wood trim and custom cabinetry. The salon showcases a custom blue sectional sofa, light wood flooring, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide natural light and water views. Italian marble has been extensively used in recent upgrades, including in all cabin shower floors, the dining table, and the staircase to guest areas with integrated LED backlighting. The master stateroom features a custom floating bench in light tones that continues the salon's color scheme, with a desk and vanity overlooking the water. Guest staterooms feature consistent light wood walls with dark wood accents and nightstands. All staterooms include custom bed linens with spares and are appointed with marble en-suites featuring stainless hardware, waterfall showerheads, and bench seating. The crew quarters and galley maintain the same design language with coordinated finishes and functional layouts.
