2016 Meridian 441 Sedan Bridge – Lewisville, TX

This 2016 Meridian 441 Sedan represents a well-maintained example of one of the brand's most respected mid-range cruising platforms. At 47.17 feet with a 14.25-foot beam, the 441 Sedan delivers the comfortable, livable interior and stable sea-keeping characteristics that have made Meridian Yachts a consistent choice for serious cruisers seeking a balance between capability and manageable ownership.

Power & Propulsion

The vessel is powered by twin Cummins QSB 6.7L HO 480-horsepower diesel engines paired with Zeus pod drives—a combination that defines modern Meridian engineering. The pods provide superior maneuverability and efficiency compared to traditional shaft drives, while the joystick control system with auto-heading and SkyHook integration makes docking and close-quarters maneuvering intuitive and confidence-inspiring. Engine hours sit at 285, and the Onan 11KW generator carries 445 hours. Both powerplants received full service in August 2024, including pod servicing and zinc replacement. The 432-gallon fuel capacity supports extended cruising, while the 150-gallon fresh water system covers extended voyages without frequent fill-ups.

Helm & Navigation

The helm station centers on a Raymarine multi-function display with integrated chart plotter, GPS, and backup camera—the industry standard for recreational and commercial vessels alike. A Raymarine depth display, VHF radio, and Mercury Vessel View display round out the electronics suite, while Mercury Digital Throttle & Shift controls and analog gauges provide redundancy and tactile feedback. Trim tabs, a Jabsco spotlight with remote, and an electric anchor windlass with deck buttons and helm remote complete the command center. The forward-facing triple passenger seat with glove box and captain's bucket seat with flip-up bolster accommodate crew comfortably during extended passages.

Deck & Exterior

The fly bridge is the signature feature of the 441 Sedan configuration. A fiberglass hardtop with three overhead hatches and full canvas enclosure (newly replaced in August 2025) provides weather protection and shade. The space includes air conditioning, a refrigerator, sink, electric grill, and substantial seating—a true outdoor entertaining platform with panoramic views. Teak flooring on the fly bridge steps, cockpit, and swim platform adds durability and aesthetic appeal. Below, the cockpit features a lounge seat with under-seat storage, canvas enclosure, large overhang for weather protection, and fender storage lockers. A quick electric anchor windlass with stainless steel plow anchor and rode, transom shower with dockside water connection, and swim platform with stainless ladder complete the outdoor functionality. Recent upgrades include new canvas in August 2025 and upgraded teak decking throughout.

Main Salon & Galley

The main salon showcases two-tiered windows, a sliding glass door, and wrap-around forward windshield that flood the space with natural light and views. An L-shaped ultra-leather sofa with under-seat storage converts to additional sleeping berths, while a weight-based cherry wood hi-lo coffee table doubles as a dining surface and moves easily when reconfiguring the cabin. An elevated dining nook forward with cherry wood table provides an alternative dining arrangement. An entertainment center with Clarion sound system, flat-screen TV, and DVD player serves as the cabin's media hub. Large in-floor storage with ladder and rail,

2016 Meridian 441 Sedan: Freshwater Flagship with Twin Diesel Power and Comprehensive Upgrades
Overview
The 2016 Meridian 441 Sedan represents a mature expression of the brand's philosophy: elegant hull design, thoughtful interior architecture, and reliable offshore capability wrapped in a comfortable cruising platform. At 47 feet 2 inches in length with a 14-foot 3-inch beam, the 441 Sedan occupies the sweet spot between serious range and manageable single-slip mooring. This particular example, named PORT GRACE, carries the distinction of freshwater-only operation on Lake Lewisville since new—a significant advantage for hull integrity, system longevity, and long-term value retention. What sets this vessel apart is not merely its low engine hours (285 hours) or recent service records, but the thoughtful combination of upgrades and maintenance that reflect an owner committed to preservation and enhancement. The 2016 build year places this 441 Sedan well within the modern electronics and propulsion era while avoiding the steep depreciation curve of newer builds. For buyers seeking a turnkey cruising platform with proven systems, dual stateroom accommodations, and the operational simplicity of joystick helm control, this Meridian delivers both substance and documented care.
Layout and Deck Design
The 441 Sedan's layout prioritizes sightlines and livability across three functional zones: the fly bridge, main salon, and below-deck accommodations. This vertical organization is fundamental to the sedan design philosophy—the elevated helm position on the fly bridge provides commanding visibility while the enclosed main salon and protected cockpit create multiple entertaining and relaxation spaces. The cockpit features a lounge seat with under-seat storage, a large overhead canvas enclosure, and teak flooring throughout the swim platform and fly bridge steps. Stainless steel flag staff, fender storage lockers on both port and starboard sides, and a transom locker with integrated freshwater washdown and dockside water connection support both practical seamanship and guest comfort. A swim ladder and substantial swim platform invite water engagement, while the large overhang above the cockpit provides weather and sun protection—essential for the Texas lake environment. The main salon showcases upgraded hardwood flooring that extends into the galley, reinforcing the sense of a unified living space. Two-tiered windows with blinds, a sliding glass door, and a wrap-around forward windshield flood the interior with natural light and create the panoramic views characteristic of modern Meridian design. The salon arrangement includes a large L-shaped sofa with under-seat storage, a weight-based cherry wood hi-lo coffee table that doubles as a dining surface, and a raised cocktail table that can be easily repositioned. The dining nook forward features a cherry wood table and is positioned opposite the galley, with the flexibility to convert to an additional berth if needed—a practical design choice for variable cruising parties. The VIP stateroom forward demonstrates the beam-to-beam window arrangement that Meridian employs in mid-size sedans. Dual side windows and an overhead skylight create a bright, naturally lit cabin despite the forward location. The large double berth, cedar-lined hanging lockers, lower storage lockers, drawers, and makeup vanity support extended cruising without feeling cramped. Reading lights, accent lighting, a flat-screen TV, and DVD player complete the accommodation. The master stateroom aft features a centerline queen berth, cedar-lined hanging lockers, accent and reading lights, television, and DVD player. The ensuite head is a significant amenity for a 47-foot cruising yacht—a private Vacu-flush toilet, sink, vanity, and separate shower stall eliminate the morning bathroom logistics that plague shared-head designs.
Helm and Electronics
The 441 Sedan's helm setup reflects Meridian's commitment to modern piloting ergonomics. Mercury Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) controls provide electronic precision for engine management, while the joystick control system with auto-heading and SkyHook functionality transforms close-quarters maneuvering from a three-person operation into single-handed command. This is not a minor convenience—joystick control fundamentally changes how an owner approaches docking, anchoring, and navigation in confined waterways. The Raymarine multi-function display integrates chart, GPS, and backup camera functions into a single touchscreen interface, reducing helm clutter and improving decision-making speed. A dedicated Raymarine depth display and Raymarine VHF radio provide redundancy and clarity for critical navigation data. Analog gauges supplement the digital displays, offering immediate mechanical feedback on engine parameters. Trim tabs with helm control enable precision running attitude adjustment, crucial for fuel efficiency and ride quality across varying sea states. The fly bridge helm station includes a captain's bucket seat with flip-up bolster, forward-facing triple passenger seating with a large glove box, and a Mercury Vessel View display that mirrors engine and system data. The arrangement supports both serious piloting and casual bridge entertaining. A Jabsco spotlight with helm remote and anchor windlass remote control extend operational capability without requiring crew movement.
Comfort and Entertaining
The fly bridge represents the 441 Sedan's signature entertaining platform. The fiberglass hardtop with three overhead hatches and full canvas enclosure (newly replaced in August 2025) creates a weather-protected outdoor room that extends the cruising season. An air-conditioning unit dedicated to the fly bridge keeps the space comfortable during hot-weather operation. The large L-shaped sofa with under-seat storage and pedestal table provides generous seating, while a refrigerator, sink, and electric grill transform the space into a functional galley for upper-deck entertaining. This is where the Meridian 441 Sedan's appeal crystallizes for many owners—a fully appointed outdoor salon that doesn't require descent to the main deck for refreshments or casual dining. The main salon sofa-sleeper to starboard and two lounge chairs with table to port create distinct conversation zones. The hi-lo coffee table and raised cocktail table provide flexible surface options for dining, cocktails, or games. An entertainment center with Clarion sound system and flat-screen TV with DVD player supports evening relaxation, while an ice maker and cupboard ensure beverages remain cold. Large in-floor storage locker with ladder and rail provides dedicated space for foul-weather gear, seasonal equipment, or provisions.
Galley and Provisioning
The galley reflects Meridian's understanding that serious cruisers prioritize cooking capability. An upright refrigerator/freezer, three-burner sunken electric stove with cover, and Cuisinart microwave/convection oven support meal preparation from casual to ambitious. Dual stainless steel sinks with covers, hot and cold pressure water, and Karadon solid surface countertops create a functional workspace. A lazy Susan in a corner storage locker maximizes cupboard efficiency, while dedicated storage for sink and stove covers keeps the galley organized. The upgraded hardwood flooring extends into the galley, creating visual continuity with the main salon and reinforcing the quality-of-life emphasis throughout the interior.
Power and Propulsion
The 441 Sedan is powered by twin Cummins QSB 6.7L HO 480 diesel engines rated at 459 horsepower each, paired with Zeus pod drives. At 285 hours, these engines remain well within their early service life, with documented service completed in August 2024. Diesel propulsion offers the range, reliability, and fuel efficiency expected of serious cruising yachts, while the Zeus pod system eliminates traditional shaft seals, reducing maintenance and the risk of water intrusion. An Onan 11KW generator with sound shield (445 hours) provides independent electrical generation for air conditioning, cooking, and hotel loads while anchored or moored away from shore power. A 50-amp shore power cord with Cablemaster reverse cycle heat and air conditioning supports both engine room and salon climate control. House and engine battery chargers ensure full charge state during shore power connection, while bilge heaters protect the vessel during winter storage or extended absence. Fuel capacity of 432 gallons supports extended cruising range, while the 150-gallon freshwater capacity accommodates extended anchoring without dockside resupply. These volumes reflect the 441 Sedan's design intent as a serious cruising platform, not a day-boat.
Deck Systems and Seamanship
A Quick electric anchor windlass with deck buttons and helm remote control eliminates manual hauling—a significant quality-of-life upgrade for a vessel this size. A stainless steel plow anchor and rode provide ground tackle appropriate for the vessel's displacement and cruising profile. A Jabsco spotlight with helm remote extends visibility for night navigation and docking, while torpedo speakers at the bow provide forward-facing audio for entertaining. Bow pads with flip-up back rests create a comfortable bow seating area, while

Why is the freshwater-only history important for this 2016 Meridian 441, and what maintenance has been performed recently?
Freshwater-only use since the boat's sale as new at Lake Lewisville means the hull, through-hulls, and all underwater metal components have never experienced saltwater corrosion. This significantly extends the lifespan of the vessel and reduces the likelihood of hidden corrosion issues. Recent comprehensive maintenance includes engine and generator service (August 2024), bottom paint and zincs replacement (August 2024), compound and wax (August 2024), and a new canvas fly bridge enclosure (August 2025). The engines show only 285 hours and the generator 445 hours, indicating light use and proper care. How does the cockpit design support comfort and functionality for cruising?
The cockpit features a large overhang that provides shade and weather protection, with a canvas enclosure for the lounge seat that extends usability in varying conditions. Teak flooring on the cockpit, swim platform, and fly bridge steps provides an attractive, non-slip surface. A lounge seat with under-seat storage offers comfortable seating, and fender storage lockers to port and starboard keep dock gear organized and accessible. A large in-floor engine access hatch allows easy maintenance, and a transom locker houses the freshwater washdown system and dockside water connection. The swim platform with stainless steel ladder and H/C transom shower make water activities convenient. A stainless steel flag staff with US flag completes the professional appearance.
What type of buyer is this Meridian 441 best suited for, and what is the primary use case?
The 2016 Meridian 441 Sedan is ideal for cruising couples and small families who want a comfortable, well-appointed motor yacht for extended freshwater cruising on lakes and rivers. The two-stateroom, two-head layout supports multi-week trips with guests, while the joystick control and pod drive make it easy for experienced boaters to handle single-handed. The fly bridge and main salon provide excellent entertaining spaces, and the comprehensive electronics and autopilot features reduce fatigue on longer passages. The diesel engines and generous fuel capacity support extended cruising range, while the Onan generator and reverse-cycle air conditioning enable comfortable cruising in various seasons. This boat suits buyers who prioritize comfort, ease of operation, and reliable mechanical systems over fishing-specific features or high-speed performance.
