Our Thoughts

The 2026 Aspen C108 represents a thoughtfully engineered 38-foot motor yacht built around the principle that comfortable cruising—not raw speed—defines quality offshore ownership. This semi-displacement vessel combines Aspen's proprietary power proa hull design with genuine liveability, creating a platform equally suited to extended coastal cruising, island hopping through the Pacific Northwest, or leisurely exploration of protected waters.

Hull Design & Performance

Aspen's displacement hull philosophy eliminates the traditional planning boat's speed curve constraints. Rather than requiring a specific RPM threshold to achieve efficiency, the C108 accelerates smoothly and evenly from idle through its 30-knot maximum, with a comfortable 22-knot cruising speed. This translates to fuel efficiency across the entire operating range—a meaningful advantage for owners planning extended passages. The 10.67-foot beam and 2.67-foot draft provide excellent stability and shallow-water capability without sacrificing interior volume, a balance many 38-foot yachts struggle to achieve.

With a 180-gallon fuel capacity and efficient burn rates across speed ranges, the C108 delivers practical range for coastal and offshore ventures. The 50-gallon water tankage supports extended cruising for a crew of four to six.

Interior & Accommodations

The redesigned salon marks a significant step forward for the Aspen line, offering 30% more usable living space than previous models. Full-height, wrap-around Solar Guard windows flood the cabin with natural light and provide exceptional visibility while underway—a critical feature for safe, confident boat handling in varying conditions.

The salon centers on a five-person C-shaped dinette paired with twin Bentley helm seats that accommodate both the owner and a co-pilot or guest comfortably during extended helm time. The 12-foot galley is thoughtfully appointed with an oven-stove combination, microwave, stainless steel sink, and multiple Burmese teak drawers—practical storage and cooking capability that elevates meal preparation aboard.

Three private cabins provide sleeping arrangements for family and guests, with cabin finishes executed in fine teak by Aspen's in-house craftsmen. This level of interior joinery and material selection is uncommon in the 38-foot class and reflects the builder's commitment to custom quality.

Mechanical & Systems

Standard propulsion and electrical systems are complemented by available options including a ProPex 10,000-BTU propane forced-air heating system with dash defrost and boost fan, ensuring comfort during shoulder seasons or cooler-water cruising. Additional battery capacity via a G27 battery and box, paired with Balmar battery gauges, supports extended time away from shore power.

Deck & Fishing Features

The C108 accommodates both cruising and light fishing pursuits. A Lewmar Pro-Series 1,000-watt windlass with front deck and helm controls simplifies anchoring in variable conditions. An aft combing fishing rail with two rod holders provides structure for casual fishing or trolling, while the open cockpit layout integrates a fold-down table and optional sink for flexible entertaining and food preparation.

Optional deck upgrades include a teak cocktail bar with stools, Geralick deck chairs, and a removable polished teak table—elements that transform the cockpit into an outdoor living space suited to extended anchorages or marina stays.

Interior Options & Customization

The build specification includes Corian surfaces throughout the galley, head, and quarter berth hatch, offering durability and easy maintenance. A power recliner in the aft din

Having a range of speed at your disposal adds to the experience of cruising. Our experienced team at Aspen understands that it’s not all about go-fast boats with roaring engines. Instead, it is about finding a comfortable speed that gets you and your crew where you need to go safely and comfortably, and if it happens to be a whole lot of fun, so much the better. An Aspen is efficient across the entire range of speed. With our patented power proa hull, Aspens don’t plane, the hulls displace water. This means that they can be smoothly operated at any RPM as there is no hole to push out of. Aspens accelerate smoothly and evenly from idle up to top speed. They also do not have much of a speed penalty. Faster speeds are attained at reasonable gallons per hour burn rates and result in good miles per gallon performance, especially when compared to other vessels in their size range or that have comparable accommodations. The large new salon has been finished with fine teak by Aspen’s experienced craftsman and has 30% more livable space than previous Aspen models. Full height wrap around Solar Guard windows provide exceptional visibility while underway from the 5 person C-shaped dinette and the twin Bentley helm seats, that keep both owners and guests comfortable. The 12ft long galley includes an oven-stove combo, microwave, stainless steel sink, and multiple Burmese teak drawers. The cabin space is unparalleled for a boat this size and includes three private cabins. Call or Email to schedule a personal tour.  PICTURES SHOWN WITH OPTIONS *Price does not include options. 2026 Aspen C108: A 38-Foot Displacement Cruising Motor Yacht with Efficient Power Proa Hull Design
The 2026 Aspen C108 represents a thoughtfully engineered approach to mid-range motor yacht cruising, built around Aspen's proprietary power proa hull technology and a philosophy that prioritizes comfort, efficiency, and smooth operation across a full range of speeds. Located in Burlington, Washington, this 38-foot model combines three private cabins, a generous salon with teak joinery, and a 12-foot galley into a package designed for extended cruising rather than speed-focused performance.
Overview: Displacement Efficiency and Design Philosophy
Unlike planing hulls that require pushing through a dynamic hump to achieve speed, the Aspen C108's displacement hull design allows smooth acceleration from idle through its 30-knot maximum speed without the characteristic "hole" that characterizes traditional planning boats. This fundamental difference in hydrodynamic behavior means the C108 can be operated comfortably at any RPM without efficiency penalties or the need to maintain specific speed thresholds to maintain stability and control. The C108's 38-foot length, 10.67-foot beam, and 2.67-foot draft create a platform well-suited to coastal and offshore cruising in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. With a fuel capacity of 180 gallons and a water capacity of 50 gallons, the vessel is configured for extended range and self-sufficiency. The reported cruising speed of 22 knots and maximum speed of 30 knots reflect the efficiency gains built into the displacement hull form—speeds that are achievable at reasonable fuel burn rates rather than requiring high-horsepower engines or aggressive throttle settings.
Layout and Deck Design
The salon represents a significant evolution in Aspen's design language for this size range, offering 30% more livable space compared to earlier models. Full-height, wrap-around Solar Guard windows provide 360-degree visibility while underway, a critical feature for both navigation safety and the viewing experience during cruising. The salon is anchored by a five-person C-shaped dinette finished in fine teak, alongside twin Bentley helm seats that accommodate both the primary operator and a second occupant in ergonomic comfort. The deck layout supports both cruising convenience and light fishing capability. An aft combing fishing rail with two rod holders allows for casual fishing or trolling without requiring a dedicated fishing platform. Optional deck amenities include a Lewmar Pro-Series 1,000 windlass with helm and foredeck controls for anchor handling, a teak cocktail bar with stools, Geralick deck chairs, and a removable polished teak table for the cockpit—options that transform the outdoor spaces into an entertaining and relaxation area.
Galley and Interior Accommodations
The 12-foot galley is one of the C108's defining features for a vessel this size. It includes a full oven-stove combination, microwave, stainless steel sink, and multiple Burmese teak drawers, providing the cooking and provisioning capability expected on extended cruising yachts. Optional Corian countertops and drawer configurations expand functionality and durability, while a dedicated cockpit sink supports deck operations and entertaining. Cabin accommodations consist of three private cabins, a layout that distinguishes the C108 within its category and supports multi-family or extended crew arrangements. The head includes a dedicated exhaust fan system for moisture management, while optional upgrades include Corian surfaces in both the galley and head, a power recliner in the aft dinette area, and flexible seating configurations that allow swing tables to move between the dinette and cockpit areas.
Helm and Navigation
Twin Bentley helm seats position both the operator and a companion in comfort during long passages. The helm setup supports dual-station operation, allowing the vessel to be controlled from the pilothouse during adverse weather or for extended watch-keeping. Optional Lewmar windlass controls at the helm provide remote anchor handling capability, reducing physical demand on deck operations, particularly valuable for cruising couples or single-handed operation scenarios.
Power and Efficiency
The Aspen C108's power proa hull form is engineered to deliver efficiency across the entire operating range. The displacement hull does not require a specific planning speed to achieve stability or efficiency; instead, it accelerates smoothly and evenly from idle to maximum speed. This characteristic translates to good miles-per-gallon performance at cruising speeds while maintaining the option to increase speed when desired without sacrificing fuel economy as dramatically as planing hulls typically do. The 180-gallon fuel capacity supports extended range at the vessel's 22-knot cruising speed, a specification that varies based on actual sea conditions, loading, and operational patterns but positions the C108 for multi-day passages and regional cruising in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and beyond.
Mechanical and Electrical Systems
The C108 includes propane-forced air heating with 10,000 BTU capacity, dash defrost, and a boost fan with four cabin outlets—essential infrastructure for year-round cruising in temperate and cooler climates. Electrical systems are supported by dual battery banks with a Balmar battery charger and dedicated battery gauges, providing the redundancy and monitoring capability necessary for live-aboard or extended cruising operations. Optional extended warranty coverage through Yamaha and a Cruise Ready Pack that includes fenders, USCG safety gear, ground tackle, life jackets, fire extinguishers, first aid, and flare kits position the C108 for immediate cruising without requiring additional provisioning.
Why This Yacht Deserves Consideration
The 2026 Aspen C108 appeals to cruising-focused buyers who prioritize comfort, efficiency, and the ability to operate smoothly across a range of speeds rather than maximum performance. The three-cabin layout, generous salon with full-height windows, and 12-foot galley create a capable platform for extended family cruising, multi-couple getaways, or single-family live-aboard scenarios. The power proa hull design eliminates the efficiency penalties associated with traditional planing hulls while delivering respectable speeds and the smooth, stable ride characteristic of displacement vessels. Located in the Pacific Northwest, the C108 sits in a region where its design philosophy—comfortable, efficient, stable cruising—aligns perfectly with the coastal and island-hopping opportunities available throughout the San Juan Islands, Gulf of Georgia, and Alaska. Buyers interested in learning more about the vessel's construction quality, hull design advantages, and customization options are encouraged to visit Aspen's headquarters for a factory tour and demonstration ride. The 2026 Aspen C108 is priced at $615,700 and is available for viewing by appointment in Burlington, Washington.
